If you’ve ever felt like you just weren’t connecting with your job, you’re not alone. Insert Hilary Schlesinger and Lindsey Cavanaugh. The girls first met as marketing interns in Chicago and later worked a few jobs here and there, but nothing stuck…until now! The two women joined forces to create professional branding company Vibe Tribe Creative (VTC), and their first client was none other than Giuliana Rancic.
VTC was built on the foundational elements of creativity, a healthy work-life-balance, and a put-people-first mentality. Lindsey sums it up as a ‘go-with-the-flow while still kicking ass attitude’ and it’s working. With no former ties to the star, Lindsey reached out to Giuliana’s people and VTC’s first project was born. The two women created a brand new website for the E! News host and reality star and did it their own way - trusting their creative ‘vibes’ to get it done right.
Like any new business owners, Hil and Linds (as they affectionately call each other) were nervous as they launched their new business. Hilary revealed, “Our biggest fear was the unknown. We gave up a ton of security to venture out on our own and had no idea if our vision would lead to success. However, the only thing scarier than failing at a dream was not trying at all.” Sure enough, this positive outlook still holds true for them today as they lean on each other to stay strong and make any important business decisions.
Indeed, Hilary and Lindsey are paving the way for other young women to follow their hearts to their dream jobs. In a parting thought, Lindsey advises, “Don’t stray away from your passion regardless of what other people tell you. If you're good at something, find a way to get better...don’t give up.”
